Along with the approach to conscious architecture, our perspective on interior design is also changing. Climate issues are altering the very way we feel about consumption. We are becoming more intelligent about it, and the huge shift to living more intentionally is bringing us closer to our origins – in nature.
We are what surrounds us. The basic philosophy of design is always human-centered and should evoke emotions. Adaptive architecture is about a design that interacts with people. It involves them in the environment and affects how we feel, what we experience, how we think, and behave. This is where sensory design comes in, as it is a design technique that puts a building’s occupants at the heart of the project, paying particular attention to how the space can affect them in the long term.
Spaces and objects, of course, should be functional, first of all, and they should be comfortable and practical – and only then, pleasing to the eye. But they must also be more than that. A space needs to delight our senses, and the textures, sounds and smells that surround us must have a positive effect on our feelings and well-being.
For SINATA, a good, high-quality design is a path out of the ordinary into deeper meaning. Guided by the needs of body and mind, and with proven expertise in the most effective and dramatic uses of natural materials such as wood and stone, we strive to create spaces that are not only beautiful and practical, but also a pleasure for all the senses.
